OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

Attend Our Fundraising Events:

RCWS organizes two annual fundraising events to support our ongoing programs: The Petroushka Ball and the Petroushka on the Hudson cruise.

Next year’s Petroushka Ball will be held on Friday, January 29th, 2010 at the Waldorf=Astoria. What began in 1965 as a small tea dance to raise money for Russian children has grown into one of New York’s most important Russian-American events. It is attended by over 800 guests who span business, artistic and diplomatic communities.

Past Petroushka Ball events have featured Opera greats such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Elena Obraztsova, Maria Guleghina, Rollando Villazón, Paul Groves, Matthew Polenzani, Elina Garanca, Ekaterina Semenchuk as well as soloists from the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, the Bolshoi Theater, the Novaya Opera and the Spivakov Foundation. We promise that 2010 Petroushka Ball will be another spectacular evening!

Contact our office at 212-473-6263 or main@rcws.org for tickets, ads, auction donations and special sponsorships.

Get Your Company Involved:

We are seeking corporate sponsors to help fund RCWS programs in Russia. By supporting RCWS, our sponsors provide invaluable aid to hundreds of disadvantaged children in Russia who rely on our help. It is our policy to channel 100% of approved direct donations to the designated programs.

Your company can support our organization by participating in RCWS special events. Sponsorship of the Petroushka Ball presents an effective opportunity for corporate visibility, offers network opportunities with prominent Russian-American businesses, and is an excellent way to entertain clients and employees. RCWS prominently features sponsors in its public relations materials throughout the year.

Help orphans and sick children in Russia by purchasing an advertisement in Petroushka Ball program, making a contribution, ordering dinner tickets, providing in-kind donation for the auction/ raffle or supplying products for the gift bags. Please contact our office at 212-473-6263 for further information.

Volunteer at RCWS:

We are grateful to all of the RCWS volunteers who generously devote their time and energy. If you are interested in volunteering with RCWS during our special events in New York or Moscow, please contact us at main@rcws.org to learn how you can help.

Matching Gift Program:

An Employer Matching Gift program enables corporations and their employees to collaborate in their charitable giving. You employer may have such a program, which could instantly double your contribution.

Ask your Human Resources personnel for a Matching Gift Program application form and the company’s guidelines for participation.

Tribute Donations:

You can make a donation in memory of someone or to commemorate someone’s birthday, graduation, anniversary, wedding or other special occasion. A tribute letter will be sent to the person (s) you designate and an acknowledgement letter will be sent to you. This letter will serve as your tax receipt.

Contributing Stock:

Consider donating appreciated stocks or mutual funds. There are many advantages to this method of donation including the minimizing of capital gains and income taxes as well as obtaining a possible income tax deduction for the full value of the security.

For more information contact us at 212-473-6263 or main@rcws.org

Donations in Lieu of Gifts:

You could help children at risk in Russia by asking guests to donate to RCWS instead of buying you gifts. Be it a birthday, wedding or Christmas, all occasions are welcome.

Please contact us at 212-473-6263 or main@rcws.org, if you have any questions or would like to include RCWS brochures with your invitations.

Include RCWS in your Will:

Leaving a gift to charity in your Will (bequest) is a wonderful way for your generosity and kindness to last beyond your own lifetime. Without this precious income, many of the vital projects supported by RCWS would not be possible.

Next time you update your Will or a Trust, consider RCWS for a lasting legacy of helping children at risk in Russia.
